Darryl Burton










 



 
  Darryl Burton is a senior consultant who has over twenty years of experience in emergency response planning and operations with a focus on healthcare organizations and system. While working as a senior planner in the San Francisco Department of Public Health Community Health Division, he was responsible for developing the Emergency Response Standard Operating Procedures and emergency response exercises.

In 2002, Mayor Willie Brown appointed him to the position of Director of Administrative Services for the City and County of San Francisco. In this role, he was also the Logistics Chief for the Office of Emergency Services.

Darryl’s experience includes both active duty and reserve as an Army Officer. During his military career, he has worked in a number of senior positions, to include as the Deputy Commander of Operations at a trauma hospital in Tikrit, Iraq. In this position, he oversaw 15 mass-casualty events involving contractors, Iraqi civilians and US military. He has developed a strong expertise in multi-tier emergency response exercises and incident command structure, to include scenario design, exercise event lists and directing teams of diverse evaluators for both small and large organizations. His operational background includes Information Technology with a focus on Enterprise Asset Management systems, to include a major deployment in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Awarded a Bronze Star in 2007, he also has Masters Degrees in Business Administration and Health Systems from the University of San Francisco.
